Recycling Plan and Schedule
To our Delaware Solid Waste Authority customers – DSWA will stop Recycling Pickup on March 31, 2011.
Effective April 1, 2011 Econo-Haul will begin picking up Recycling for all Delaware Solid Waste customers. Any customer who wishes to sign up for this service, a 96 gallon CAN will be provided.
Single-Stream Curbside Recycling
• Pickup will be same day as trash pickup (every other week) –

• Recycling & Yard Waste will be picked up on alternate weeks
• Calendar highlighting pickup weeks is attached
• Customers may use the DSWA cans for Recycling materials
• There will be no additional charge for recycling
• To our Yard Waste customers – The number of Yard Waste
bags will be increased to 12 bags per pickup and will still
be $4.00/month (every other week) - See Calendar
Materials accepted in a Single-Stream Cart
Newspapers/Brown Paper Bags
Magazines, Catalogs
Telephone/Soft Cover Books
Junk Mail/Envelopes (all types)
Paper
Paperboard (cereal/tissue boxes)
Cardboard
Narrow-Neck Plastic Bottles (examples: Milk Jugs, Bleach/Detergent,
Shampoo Bottles)
Plastic Grocery Bags
Glass Bottles/Jars (any color)
Metal Cans (tin/steel/aluminum)
Shredded Paper (should be in bag)
No Styrofoam or Fluorescent Light Bulbs - Cannot be Recycled
Materials may be placed directly into cart. There is no need to place in a bag. Please do not put extra bags outside of your cart. If you find you have an overflow of recylcing, please call Econo-Haul at 366-7630 or email at info@econohaul.net.
With the Single-Stream Recycling process materials are taken to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where the recyclable materials are separated and sent to various markets for sale. A MRF uses a system of sorting mechanisms, which can separate the recyclables into individual material groups in preparation for sending to their respective market where the actual recycling of the material happens.
